About NigeriaPlus

NigeriaPlus is an Semi-Open Source Reporting Network whose purpose is to serve as a news and information one-stop-shop for all things Nigerian. Our aim is to reflect the diversity of reporting, analysis and commentary from as many as possible of the talented writers who write on Nigeria-related issues. At NigeriaPlus, we are proudly Nigerian with a single goal in mind: to build a community around our passion for everything Nigerian. However the ultimate purpose is to do this with a view to holding to account all of our leaders and all other persons who by virtue of suffrage, appointment, ordinance, imposition, inheritance, fate or outright (good)luck, find themselves in any position of political, religious, social or other form of authority.

Our key principles are openness, freedom and respect for opposing views, as far as those views are expressed responsibly. Unlike traditional media, NigeriaPlus is self-sponsored and does not allow advertising to dictate or bias coverage in any way. We are totally non-partisan and will accept objective, thoughtful and well-written articles that may portray views that are anti- or pro-government of the day.  In this way, we provide access to a full range of what Nigerians are saying, thinking, reflecting upon and writing. This makes for a unique compilation of information that is valuable to policy makers, businesses, non-governmental organizations, scholars and journalists, as well as to the general public.

The site is updated daily with articles by  citizen-journalists  from all over the world. Citizens like YOU!  In addition, to publishing citizen-journalist articles and opinions, we also publish original reporting by the NigeriaPlus team of editors.

NigeriaPlus features articles relating to current news or events in politics, sports, business, entertainment, health, travel, faith and religion as they relate to Nigeria.  Contributors are also welcome to write opinion articles, investigative articles and in-depth feature articles. Views expressed in the opinion section are never those of the NigeriaPlus company or the website’s editorial team as a whole, but merely those of the individual writer.

Satirical materials about various elements of  Nigerian political and social life or culture are also welcome. We would not publish articles that denigrate Nigeria or any Nigerians.

Syndicated content remain the exclusive copyright of the respective authors.  All other content on is © NigeriaPlus.com and cannot be used without the express, written permission of NigeriaPlus.com.
